Who is actually behind AlignerCo?

AlignerCo was founded in New York City in 2019, making it one of the newer aligner providers on the invisible aligner market.

According to the official LinkedIn page, AlignerCo is a privately held company with a staff of 11 to 50 employees, located on Hillside Avenue in New York.

Unlike most of its competitors, AlignerCo has not yet published an extensive company history or detailed information about its dental expertise.

Instead, the company’s marketing focuses mainly on the price-performance ratio of its products, which are actually cheaper than many of its competitors.

In general, however, there is much less information on the Internet about AlignerCo’s invisible aligners than about competitors such as DrSmile.

The AlignerCo is also much less represented in social media and on YouTube and there are only a few authentic testimonials available.

If you are currently looking for a reputable aligner provider, we recommend DrSmile.

DrSmile has already produced more than one million aligners and can look back on over 150,000 completed tooth corrections.

The company’s invisible aligners are already available in over 100 partner practices across Germany.

You can find more information about DrSmile here.

How does tooth correction with AlignerCo work?

Tooth straightening with AlignerCo offers a modern, discreet solution for anyone who wants a more beautiful smile – without traditional metal braces.

Two treatment options are available: Aligners that are worn (almost) all day long and aligners that are only used at night.

The former, of course, enable faster and more efficient tooth correction.

Here we explain in detail how the process works step by step:

Step 1: Online assessment by AlignerCo

It all starts with an online assessment on the AlignerCo website.

You fill out a form in which you state your dental correction needs and wishes.

This helps the team at AlignerCo to decide whether you are suitable for treatment with their aligners.

Step 2: Order impression kit

After the positive evaluation you order an impression kit from AlignerCo. This costs a regular $75 and is currently available at a discounted price of $59.99 (as of March 2024).

The kit enables you to create an exact impression of your teeth at home. It contains detailed instructions on how to make the impressions correctly.

Step 3: Create and send in impressions

After you have created the impressions of your teeth according to the instructions, send them back to AlignerCo.

These impressions serve as the basis for creating your individual treatment plans and aligners.

Step 4: Receiving the individual treatment plan

A team of professionals at AlignerCo will create a personalized treatment plan based on your impressions.

This plan gives you an overview of how your teeth will shift over time and how long the treatment is likely to take.

Based on the treatment plan, you can then make a final decision for or against the treatment.

Step 5: Start of treatment with the AlignerCo aligners

Once you have confirmed your treatment plan, AlignerCo will make your custom aligners and send them to you.

You start with the first set of aligners, which you wear according to your treatment plan.

For optimum results, the aligners should remain in the mouth for 20 to 22 hours a day. The duration of treatment varies between 4 and 6 months.

They should only be removed for eating, drinking (except water) and daily tooth cleaning.

Every two weeks or so, you change your next set of aligners to initiate the next step of tooth movement.

Step 6: Continuous monitoring

You can receive support from AlignerCo throughout the treatment if required.

You can stay in contact with the aligner provider via the AlignerTracker app, which also reminds you to change your aligners.

Although most of the treatment is carried out independently at home, it is important to monitor progress and ensure that everything is going according to plan.

Step 7: Completing the treatment

Once you have worn all the aligner sets and your teeth have reached the desired position, the active phase of treatment with AlignerCo is complete.

To ensure long-term results, it is important to start retention immediately after tooth correction.

So-called retainer splints prevent the teeth from moving back into their original position.

How much do the aligners from AlignerCo cost?

If you have already taken a look at the AlignerCo homepage, you have probably noticed that the company communicates its prices transparently.

Unlike competitors such as DrSmile, however, your malocclusion is not divided into mild, moderate or severe – instead, there is only one pricing model.

Tooth correction with the AlignerCo “All Day Invisible Aligners”

Tooth correction with the “All Day Invisible Aligners” (wearing time: 22 hours per day) regularly costs $995 and is currently reduced to $820 (as of March 2024).

Alternatively, you can pay $69 per month in installments (12-month installment plan with 0% APR).

Another payment option is $135 per month (6 month installment plan with $335 down payment).

Tooth correction with the AlignerCo “NightOnly Clear Aligners”

Tooth correction with the “NightOnly Clear Aligners” (wearing time: only at night) regularly costs $1195 and is currently reduced to $1020 (as of March 2024).

Alternatively, you can pay $85 per month in installments (12-month installment plan with 0% APR).

Another payment option is $150 per month (6 month installment plan with $445 down payment).

Important to know: Unfortunately, the costs of correcting teeth in adults are not usually covered by health insurance.

However, we still recommend that you do not focus exclusively on price when choosing an aligner provider.

Instead, rely primarily on authentic reviews and research lots of testimonials on the Internet.

Who are AlignerCo aligners suitable for?

The invisible aligners from AlignerCo are ideal for the treatment of mild to moderate malocclusions.

However, invisible braces can reach their limits with complicated malocclusions – such as severe overbite, underbite, crossbite or other types of malocclusion.

Incidentally, this applies to most aligner providers, including Smile Direct Club, Inman Aligner, Bestsmile, Harmonieschiene, Smileunion, Six Month Smiles, Braceless, Impress Aligner, LetSmile, NewSmile, Smilelign, DiamondWhites and PlusDental.

Currently, only Invisalign products or, alternatively, traditional braces can be considered for serious tooth corrections.

Unlike most providers, treatment with AlignerCo’s invisible aligners is possible from the age of 13.

However, many experts take a critical view of this. As teeth and jaws should no longer be growing at the start of the tooth correction, a minimum age of 18 years is generally recommended.

Conclusion on AlignerCo: Does the product deliver what it promises?

Even if only a few authentic reviews of AlignerCo can be found on forums and social media, it is clear that discreet tooth correction is definitely possible with the company’s aligners.

This is also confirmed by the ratings on the independent rating portal Trustpilot. The aligners from AlignerCo achieve a good result with 4.4 out of 5 stars from over 2000 reviews.

However, you should know that reputable dentists and orthodontists generally advise against taking dental impressions in your own home.

We therefore strongly advise you to choose an aligner provider whose service includes a modern 3D scan and in-office consultation.

This is because the dentist or orthodontist can not only take more precise impressions with modern 3D scanning technology.

He can also thoroughly examine your teeth again and make sure that there are no diseases that could be made worse by the tooth correction.

For this reason, the established provider DrSmile remains our recommendation for your teeth correction. There is a wealth of experience on the Internet – and the price structure is transparent.

The company also offers not only a good price-performance ratio but also a satisfaction guarantee in case you are not one hundred percent happy with the result.
